WATERCOLOR PAINTING

In the watercolor course, you will learn how water-thinned colors are applied to paper with soft brushes. The paper used for watercolor painting should be of high grammage, and should be well stretched on a flat surface so that it does not bend. In the watercolor technique, white color is not used, since light and dark tones are obtained by adding more or less water. We leave the parts of the picture that should remain white unpainted. Watercolor colors are characterized by transparency and translucency, and extraordinary tonalities of a poetic character can be obtained by painting color on color.

The program:

  1. The approach to each participant is individual according to the affinity and level of experience of the participant.

  2. If necessary, the professor shows the possible directions, ways of painting, as well as the effects that the student can choose, adopt on a certain work, through demonstration and performance.

  3. Use of materials in the Artist series (professional paints and papers).

  4. From the first class, we immediately start with the performance of work in watercolor technique, at a technically professional level (exhibition criteria), regardless of prior knowledge, and with the Step by Step system.

  5. Through work, we develop the principles of composition, the golden ratio, as well as the use of auxiliary means, which are extremely important in creating effects.

  6. In the process of painting and during breaks, we consider and gain theoretical and aesthetic view

  7. Participants with less drawing experience will be able to easily set up drawings and compositions with auxiliary technical solutions, which will make it easier to create a picture in watercolor technique.
